A photograph is worth a whole song

Photographs are important in the world of music; they capture the soul of the band. Even though a photograph is only a capturing of one single second they can go down in history and mean just as much to culture as the songs; some images, unfortunately for the artist's, are more well known than the music. This is the case for Blondie, Ramones, Bob Marley and many more. While these musicians still have fans and people who love their music, photographs of them have become more iconic. For instance, people who wear a t-shirt with an image of David Bowie's Aladdin Sane would they be able tell you one song, or even that Aladdin Sane is an album?

Most likely, no. Especially if said t-shirt has been purchased in an overpriced highstreet store.

Although, in terms of the fans, just as the lyrics to a song have a different meaning for every listener, the photographs do not just show us what a band looks like they become symbolic of what the music and the musician means to you.
