Sunday thinking

A sunday addition

Out of life's school of war: What does not destroy me, makes me stronger.
Nietzsche

A popular phrase; what doesn't kill me, makes me stronger. In my opinion i believe this to be true on occasions but as with all situations it is relative to the person and circumstance. For instance, if one is rejected for a job some would learn from the experience and improve on the weak aspects of their interview, thus, making them stronger. However some may take the experience in a negative light, seeing it only as the end and will not learn from the experience, remaining weak.

Therefore, the mindset of the person must be positive for this statement to apply; this statement relies on everyone looking upon every fall or criticism as an obstacle they must face and learn from. While in some cases this may be true, it does not apply to all.

I believe, however, if more people had the mindset of what does not destroy me, makes me stronger they would achieve much more of what they hoped for in life.
